Introduction

The Certified Utility Tree Worker (CUTW) Program is a comprehensive 12-week entry-level training course including 6-weeks of hands-on instruction designed to prepare individuals for careers in utility arboriculture, with a strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and equipment operation. Participants will be supported in conducting occupational and industry research, develop individual training plans, and make informed career decisions.

Delivered in partnership by Bredin Centre and Omnia Training, this no cost training program combines theoretical instruction with hands-on experience to position graduates for high-demand roles such as Utility Tree Trimmer Assistant, Vegetation Management Specialist Assistant, and Utility Arborist Assistant.

This program is funded by the Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services to support unemployed Albertan’s in developing the skills they need to connect to sustainable employment and to strengthen Alberta’s workforce.
