Step Into Your Future and Discover What’s Possible

Pathways2Work is an exciting and innovative employment program designed to help unemployed Albertans explore new career possibilities and build the skills needed for meaningful work. Developed by Bredin, this program is especially supportive for individuals facing obstacles to employment, offering a welcoming and encouraging environment where participants can grow, learn, and move forward with confidence.

What makes Pathways2Work truly unique is the use of immersive virtual reality (VR) technology. Participants can step into realistic workplace environments, try out different occupations, and practice job tasks in a safe and engaging way. It’s like getting a sneak peek into real jobs before stepping into them, helping you discover what interests you and where your strengths shine.

Alongside the exciting VR experiences, participants receive personalized support from experienced Bredin career coaches who help guide each person through career exploration, skill development, and plans for employment. The program is designed to help build the confidence, skills, and experience needed to move toward sustainable employment.

No cost. Innovative technology. Real career support. Pathways2Work helps you explore your potential, discover new career directions, and take meaningful steps toward employment and independence.

This no-cost program is funded by the Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services and delivered by Bredin Centre for Career Advancement in Red Deer, Alberta.

Hands-On Learning and Virtual Reality Career Exploration

Participants take part in interactive learning experiences that make career exploration engaging and practical. Using virtual reality technology, participants can explore a variety of occupations and practice workplace tasks in realistic simulations. This allows individuals to build confidence, learn new skills, and better understand different types of work environments.

Workshops and activities focus on developing the skills employers value most, including communication, teamwork, time management, problem solving, and workplace professionalism. Participants also gain valuable digital skills and practical job search tools to support their journey into employment.

Personalized Career Support

Pathways2Work provides individualized support tailored to each participant’s goals, strengths, and personal circumstances. Bredin Centre staff work closely with participants to create a personalized plan that may include career exploration, employment preparation, essential skills training, and opportunities to gain real-world work experience.

Participants also receive support with resume development, interview preparation, job search strategies, and connections to employers in the community. Ongoing follow-up support helps participants succeed as they transition into employment.

By the end of the program, participants leave with new skills, greater confidence, practical work experience, and a clear path forward toward employment.
