Paul Johnson is a professional accountant holding CMA and CPA designations.
He joined Bredin as Director of Finance in July 2020. Paul has over fifteen years experience in accounting, having worked with various companies including Maple Leaf Foods, Enbridge, and Aurora Cannabis. In his career, Paul has been responsible for many aspects of finance and accounting functions, ranging from full cycle financial accounting to cost accounting in production environments to financial planning and analysis for multi-billion dollar lines of business. One element of the finance function Paul feels is constant across all roles and organisations is the need for clear, consistent communication between the accounting team and their cross-functional partners in other departments. Fostering a strong, collaborative relationship ensures that Bredin’s staff and management have the information they need to make the best decisions possible, while also ensuring the budgets, reports, and other products of the finance team are fully supported by input from the rest of the organisation.
Paul is a life-long Edmontonian. He is married and fosters basset hounds with Basset Rescue Edmonton. Paul enjoys writing in his spare time and strongly believes in bringing creativity to the workplace to drive continuous improvement and inspire innovative solutions to business challenges.
