Innovative Education
Human Resources and Skills Development Canada has identified the
following nine skills as essential to workplace success:
- Reading
- Document Use
- Numeracy
- Writing
- Oral Communication
- Working with Others
- Thinking Skills
- Digital Technology (Computer Use)
- Continuous Learning
Phase 1
- Intake and employability assessment
- Test Of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES)
- Acceptance into the program or referral to other services
Phase 2
- 1 week of career planning to decide on a career choice or
occupational field
- Develop an Essential Employability Skills Profile
Phase 3
- 9 weeks of Employability Skills Enhancement
Phase 4
- 1 week to focus on resume writing skills and effective job
search strategies
Who this program is for
- Permanent Residents or individuals selected to be Permanent
Residents of Canada and protected persons
Not moving ahead in your career or getting the job you want?
This Program will help you to:
- Identify, plan and improve your skills to be successful in
the Canadian Workplace
- Improve your ability to answer questions like "Tell me about
yourself", "what are your strengths/weaknesses" and "Why should
I hire you?"
This is an 11 week program with the following Intake Dates:
- July 3, 2012
- September 24, 2012
- January 7, 2013
Notes:
- There is no Alberta Government Learner Benefits available
for this program
- Minimum CLB 5 required
