LINC 6 Language Training

LINC 6 is a 12 week program designed to respond to the increasing numbers of newcomers entering Canada with higher levels of education and testing at CLB 7766 or higher. Despite the higher levels, these newcomers may still have skill gaps or language barriers that prevent them from entering a training program, post-secondary institution, or landing a job in their chosen field.

Focus Of The Program

  • Enhance listening and reading comprehension to write and speak clearly and effectively
  • Develop grammar, reading, and writing skills while allowing learners some choice in practice tasks relevant to them (community, academic, or workplace)
  • Enhance other essential workplace skills to improve skills and abilities highly sought after in the Canadian workplace

Who is this program for

  • Permanent Residents or individuals selected to be Permanent Residents of Canada and protected persons

Starting June, 2012

Notes:

  • There is no Alberta Government Learner Benefits available for this program
  • Minimum CLB 7766 required
