Bredin WorkSkills Program
The WorkSkills Program enables students to:
- Gain access to higher paying jobs
- Make informed career decisions
- Develop relevant work skills
The WorkSkills Program provides:
- Employability Skills Assessment
- Career Planning (1 week)
- Essential Work Skills Training (10 weeks)
- Short-term Training Courses (e.g. First Aid, WHMIS, H2S Alive, etc.)
- Employment Search Workshops (1 week)
- Work Placement (4 weeks)
- Supported Job Search (2 weeks)
- Job Retention Support (6 months)
Who can apply?
- Income Support clients, EI clients or other unemployed
Albertans
- Anyone eligible to work and train in Canada (must be permanent resident or
citizen)
- Anyone ready, willing and able
- Anyone 18 years or over
* Learner Benefits may be available.
* Applicants must score 180 or more on a TOWES assessment to be eligible for
WorkSkills.

- June 4/12 – October 5/12
- September 4/12 – January 11/13
- January 21/13 – May 24/13
- August 12/13 – December 13/13

The WorkSkills Program is an 18-week Integrated Training program
that helps participants develop the workplace essential skills they
need to find full-time employment in their chosen occupation within
the trades, the oil and gas sector or the service industry.
